(Lopez) was tremendous. He was patient and made some great feeds.
Mike has just done a tremendous job in just his first year with that team. He and the team deserve every accolade and honor they have received.
Gaither will be a tremendous match. It's going to be a battle, with two of the top teams going at each other. Once it started to get down towards the end of season, you figured this is (how it would end up).
Griffin can't do what he does without his teammates. He's the first one to tell you that. But he's a great finisher.
It comes down to a choice for our players. If they choose to miss a practice because of something else, then there are consequences.
(Kuhlman) definitely deserved to make it. I try not to get too caught up in all-tournament teams, but he should have been on it.
Some of these club coaches are abusing these kids and asking impossible things from them. Coaches preach every game is important, but how can we expect a player to stay at that high level for all these games they are playing? They are getting fatigued and burning out.
The players benefit from the extra coaching, the individual instruction and the time that can be devoted, there's no question about that.
Both of these boys are very deserving of everything they've achieved. I expect both to succeed at the next level.
The way things are going now, this isn't good for high school and it isn't good for the clubs. And without a doubt, it isn't good for the kids.
It was good because we got a chance to see a lot of guys play. And we had some nice finishes.
The bigger the game, the bigger he played. I mean, come on, shutting out a team like Gaither twice during the playoffs? That's almost unheard of.
In the first 10 minutes it was like there was just one team out there in all (Cougar) maroon.
He's the best keeper in the state. That was just another example of him putting the team on his back.
And he would have had more (shutouts) had we not pulled him with big leads during the season.
