I put an OK day in, especially in the second half. That's just coach Riley being the emotional guy that he is.
He wasn't missing and he was looking good. He had that confident look. His eyes were real big and when that happens, you know he's confident.
He's a lot stronger. Last year he lost weight and I think that took a toll on him at the end of the year because he didn't have the strength to fall back on.
He's got his legs back and he's finishing his plays. He's more active getting deep and we're looking for him and finding him.
Third preseason game, and coach looked like he coached the end of the season. Guys are putting their heads down already.
Third preseason game, and coach looked like he coached the end of the season, ... Guys are putting their heads down already.
You know, the guy is averaging 28 points a game. You have to wonder what some of them were looking at when they cast their vote. I'm sure that it gets political, but the good news is that he's on the team. This is where he belongs.
Some games it's just guys have open shots and they take them, and when they miss it looks worse.
Last year, he just lost weight. And I think at the end of the year that kind of took a toll on him because he didn't have that strength that he used to, to fall back on. ... Shaq is motivated to do something better and help the team.
I had an OK day at the office.
The first half I was looking for my teammates more than my shot, and in the third quarter I just decided to be more aggressive offensively.
I approached the game differently by coming out and focusing on getting my teammates the ball. That is something I want to continue to do. I want to open things up and get my teammates the ball. Then I can start looking for my offense.
We ran plays to get him the ball, but also, us as a team have been waiting 18 games to get him the ball. So you don't have to worry about us not looking for him. We really want to get him back to his All-Star form.
We're not really looking at teams' records. We just want to come in and get better and we can't relax. This is the NBA.
He took advantage of defensive mistakes, lapses in transition and got some easy buckets. Got to the foul line 23, 24 times, so he was very aggressive. He had a great game. ... I take the blame for it. I did a bad job on him.
One thing that was different about tonight is that we executed down the stretch. We did not turn the ball over like we have done in the previous games. We took care of the ball and we executed on offense. We rebounded the ball at the end of the game also.
No question, my game is like A.I.'s, and I'm just a taller version of him. I respect him for what he does on the court every night, and he is somebody I looked up to when I was in college and high school.
I've learned great lessons from my parents for things on the court and off. I really look up to them.
He's a guy I looked up to and went to when I didn't understand something. Eddie told me the way. When he left, I called and thanked him for showing me the way, showing me the ropes.
That was probably the only game I didn't get hurt my rookie year.
We moved the ball well tonight. I think we probably didn't swing it, maybe eight times or so. It just looks like you're not moving the ball when you are missing shots,
The one thing I love about my signature performance shoe is that it's great on the court, but it also looks good with a pair of jeans.
