When we become donors we save people's lives. It's that immediate. It's a cure.
What we're trying to really do is take advantage of the pool of willing living doors who want to donate to people they know but are physically, biologically incompatible.
We are eagerly looking forward to the moment we make a match.
Sometimes they're ready at different times. Sometimes they just want to write to each other and not meet face to face. Sometimes they just want to talk on the phone.
Rather than saying, 'Sorry you can't donate, goodbye,' (we can say) 'we may have this other option'.
It's in our power to save these lives.
