They just kept hugging me and telling me they loved New Orleans and they can't wait to get back and 'Thank you so much for bringing New Orleans to us,' ... They were acting like it was Mardi Gras. The spirit is still alive.
I loved every minute of it. I found my calling. This is what I wanted to do.
It was a labor of love. I feel blessed I had the opportunity to work in jobs that I loved and with young people in my own community for 38 years. I'm thankful for it.
