Eye-popping tales of growing income inequality are hardly new. By now, nearly every American must be painfully aware of the widening pay gap between top executives and shop floor laborers; between 'Master of the Universe' financiers and pretty much everyone else.
Because there still exists a significant pay gap, women tend to earn less than men over the course of their lifetimes. Compounding the problem, women tend to spend less time in the workforce than men.
With the pay gap in Hollywood, I think it's very easy to say - 'oh, what are they complaining for? They're making millions of dollars.' But by having a woman in the industry do this, it's easier for others to see it.
