If this ($14.95 million) resolution passes, Property and Purchasing would know what we have to take to the architect. There is no money spent with this resolution. A final design would come back to the county board before any money is spent.
Our current facilities, although still functional, are seriously outdated and inefficient. The new facility will allow us to operate more efficiently and will provide a higher level of service to the community.
It takes the first hard freeze before West Nile season is over, so we're still a few weeks away. The precautions we cite are still very relevant. We're not out of the woods yet.
This does underscore the fact that West Nile is a potentially fatal disease.
