But it will be nuts here Friday. It's nuts anyway, but Chase brings a special atmosphere. He's such a special player.
When the (college) coaches were recruiting him (earlier in his career), the comment they made time and again was how unselfish he was and how willing he was to give the ball to the seniors. That says a lot about his character.
Everybody stepped up and played their roles to a 'T', and Chase did his thing. He came through on the big stage and I'm so happy for him.
It's going to be nuts. Friday nights are crazy anyway. It's just really special for high school basketball.
That (defense) helped us put a run together.
The thing we've been trying to emphasize all along is it is all about the team. Chase has been a big part of that. You see that in the way he plays the game. What that does is gives the guys confidence.
It's the icing on a great career. He's been a special player for us. He's been a special player for San Diego. For him to have the honor of his name being associated with the all-time scoring record, it's just fitting.
People are starting to know we're more than just Chase. But he sure brought a great effort.
There should be a rule that any travel over three hours a team should go there the night before. Whatever it takes to give both teams an equal chance to win should be done.
I was really happy that it was our defense that keyed (the victory). Obviously, Chase made some big plays, and other guys did, too, but the (defense) was big.
