Bob obviously arrived here in fairly serious condition but he stabilized very well here. Every hour that's gone by he's shown improvement or hasn't gotten any worse and they say that's good news.
My brother's been an overachiever his entire life. I think none of us expected him to do anything less in this whole process. We know that top on his mind is getting back to his family, to his kids and getting back to doing what he loves to do.
Doug is in better shape than Bob, but the signs that Bob is showing are as good as he can expect with this type of injury.
He opened up his eyes and he said, 'Am I alive?' And Vinnie (producer Vinnie Malhotra) told him he was alive. And at that point he started to feel the pain, I think, and he used some colorful language and said, 'This hurts a lot,' and then he became unconscious.
He moved his legs and his arms again when they got him into the Bethesda hospital. He attempted to open his eyes, and that can't be anything but good.
Having seen him, we think he's going to recover eventually. It's going to be a long road.
His signs are great, probably as good as can be expected at this stage. We're all so encouraged.
In the last couple of days, he's taken a lot of great leaps forward. He's definitely doing so much better.
He's been getting great care since he's been here, and he's been improving, and we're hopeful.
I would guarantee it's going to get nasty. We are going to have an aggressive campaign.
