I have difficulty calling myself a great teacher and I don't think I've really ever altered my teaching style at all. We have a lot more technology available to draw from now, but I have to admit I still do things now like I did when I started teaching at Buford in 1970.

People keep asking me when I'm going to retire.

I tell them I'm not. As long as I'm effective and the students consider me effective, I'm going to continue teaching. As long as a school bus comes riding by, I'll be willing to jump on it.

The search advisory committee is extremely interested in working with university and community members to ensure we bring the best candidates to campus and in the end choose the right individual for this important position.

When you do that, you can give it your best. I'm proud of my profession and how teaching makes a difference in the lives you touch. I love what I do and I'm grateful for the opportunity to do it.
