The team was already together. They had been practicing and everything else, and I think that team was like 16-1 or something. It wasn't my doing. I inherited a good team. But from that point on, I just started coaching and managing and working.

We played on fields that were leased for a dollar a year from Goodyear. They're still there. They used to be the home of where Decatur Little League played. Then we expanded it to two leagues ... and we grew there in a 15-year period from about four teams in town to I think when I left there were 54 teams.
