I was nervous, eager, anxious all at the same time. I had to tell myself to back off and slow down.
I just try to have good at-bats. That's the only thing I can control. I want to put a good swing on the ball and hit it hard. If I hit it hard and it's not right to someone, I have a good chance of getting a hit.
I think it's big, you get off on the right foot. With all the festivities going on, the crowd was fired up, and I thought we played really well.
The only thing I would be concerned about is my parents. But they see me play every day (from Tampa) anyway.
I've said all along I can't worry about replacing Coco. But it felt good to get a couple key hits.
It would be different if we were talking about a war game or something with realistic ties. You're never going to fight a zombie in real life - or at least you're hoping not to.
We need to win every game. Bottom line.
I think we're carrying some momentum going forward. We've played well since the end of that Houston series. We're getting a lot of men on base.
That showed a lot of people on this team something. Personally, I loved it.
