I know he's looking forward to the challenge again. He wants the ball and we'll ride that pony as long as we can.
You've got to take advantage of the other team's weaknesses.
Hunter pitched well tonight. He's got to throw. I know his arm's been bothering him, but he's got to find a way. This is a good sign.
He's a total turnaround from (junior varsity) last year. He's around the plate and makes them swing the bat. That's all you can ask.
He's been on the shelf, (but) he threw well. It was feast or famine ? 10 strikeouts and five walks ? but overall, he did a good job.
They saw him at his worst. He's going to be around the plate.
They put the ball in play. Their catcher (Howell when he's not pitching) is supposed to be real good. They make the plays they're supposed to make. They play small ball very well.
A good pitcher will keep batters off-balance. We're a good fastball-hitting team, so (Thomas) knew to not throw fastballs at our lineup.
It's still a work in progress. Not having a preseason game hurt us. We've got a bunch of kids who can throw strikes. And I've got to get the best bats in the lineup somewhere.
Their No. 3 hitter hit one that would have been out of Yellowstone, but Evan caught it at the base of the wall. I'm very proud of our outfield.
