He (the crew chief) has the obligation and right to make the correct call. If he feels a mistake has been made, he has the right to overturn it. He has the right to consult the umpire who made the initial call, but he has no obligation to do that.
I think that anyone that saw the Koreans play were impressed with the heart and the talent they showed in each and every game.
For two weeks, the Koreans treated the world to beautiful baseball and the world now knows that Korean baseball is amongst the best in the world.
We certainly respect the concerns raised in their letter. However, we don't consider the letter a formal request for an official protest because that would have had to have been lodged immediately after the events occurred.
