It starts with jobs and the economy. Voters are much more concerned with basic pocketbook issues than anything else.
He's just along for the ride. Oregon is as usual dragging behind the rest of the national economy.
His emphasis on health care and job creation is personally gratifying and important to Oregonians.
The Republicans are more consistently concerned about the land use planning system and encroachment on property rights. The Democrats very much defend the status quo. This will be an issue I will carry to the November election.
