It really is designed to be a fundraiser, but the other objective is to honor outstanding volunteers that deal with the youth of Pacific Grove.
It really has grown. Some people think it's because we've had it at Spanish Bay, but people have enjoyed it since the beginning, and it's just snowballed.
Some people say it's the beginning of the social season, whatever that means. It has normally been scheduled around the end of January/Valentine's day, so people do mark it on their calendars around this time of year.
Education is an important thing in Pacific Grove. If you go to the schools, you'll see a lot of parents volunteering.
