The pace of the game changed everything for us. We were way more aggressive this time and Drew got us going. We surprised them a little at the start, coming out on them with pressure.
It's disappointing because we fought hard to get back in front and then made a couple of mistakes and let them the regain the momentum.
When they were sophomores they were pushing the seniors.
Those kids were the pioneers, but this team felt the same goals were realistic even though we lost some good kids. Their theme since the beginning was, 'It's our turn.' They believed that.
These kids are good. They're going to schools like Duke and North Carolina.
(Dyer's) a total team guy. It doesn't matter if he scores or not; he goes to the boards hard, plays solid defense and he just does what needs to be done.
What really hurt was our offensive execution. We didn't move the ball quick enough.
This is just an intense time and Davis brought their A game. I like how we withstood that. There were times when Davis took it to us, but we had that nice run in the third quarter and that made a big difference.
I challenged them. We need to win three games and I asked them if they have the courage to do that.
To tell you the truth, I'm kind of surprised someone from Bellingham (High School) didn't do anything to it. But maybe that's a sign of how much they respected that team and all it accomplished.
