He's a good kid, and one of the best captains I've had in terms of leadership and just being there when you needed him.

We took a bunch of kids, worked outside twice a week under raw conditions (at the Bear Mountain rink) and really turned it into a program that worked out well.
It really feels good. It means the other guys who coach at the big places realize that what we did was an accomplishment. To be coach of the year, you have to have the team of the year, otherwise it doesn't mean much.
