We have to win this last game, and I feel if we don't win, then we don't deserve to make the playoffs. We have let enough games get by this year, and this one is a crucial game for us. It should be an easy game for our guys to get ready for.
We are having trouble scoring goals and that is how these games are determined. We had much more possession and created chances, we just weren't putting them away.
We had 90 percent of the play in the first half, we just had trouble scoring. They were dropping their players back and clogging things up. But once we started scoring, everyone started feeling better.
Usually 4A teams do not have 11 (good) players, but Athens does and came up with the plays it need. I was very impressed with them. I think we can do better, but we got beat by a good team.
We had a good meeting this morning and tried to clear up some of the problems we had with A&M. It was a real good team that we had beat in the final, so that's a great result for us.
That was a heck of a shot that Juan hit. You can't hit a ball any harder than that. I mean that was in the net as soon as it hit his foot.
We came out and played well and were able to finish some chances. The goals came pretty quick, but it was still a battle the rest of the way. I am proud of the guys. They knew this was a big game and they weren't going to let this one slide by.
We made some great chances early in the game, and then the penalty kick was a killer. But that is part of the game. I think that was a little momentum changer.
Just looking at their results, I think it will be a pretty even match. We want to come out and not make any mistakes early on. We want to try and exploit some of the free kicks and throw-in stuff we've been working on.
I don't want to just scrape through (for a victory) in this game. We need to play well and have a convincing win to have any hope of doing well in the playoffs.
