It's pretty typical that we can't play in Steamboat this early in the season, but what's not typical is that we can't play in Craig. Someone told me that those fields are still three to four weeks away from being ready.
Ann has cracked some nice shots this year. She has been spending time on her own, working.
We were pretty discombobulated. We had hints of creating opportunities, but not a lot. It was pretty normal for this time of year. It's a little untraditional that we were playing a top team in the first game.
It's a challenge for sure. But it isn't anything that we are not used to. I don't think anything is going to change until we get an all-weather field in Steamboat.
Our challenge has been to play consistently for the entire game. We did that really well against Moffat County. We didn't do that against Rifle. All things considered, we were decent today.
That took off right where things left off last spring.
It wasn't pretty. We started out well the first 10 minutes (of the second half), and then it got progressively worse. Our girls did their job in the first half.
We've had a consistent pattern with our focus on good possession soccer. ... I thought we put together 70 minutes of consistent soccer, a really good group effort.
We've been working on Ann holding the ball and recycling. Kelly draws a lot of attention, so she can recycle back, and there Ann is with space.
It was probably officially colder here than in Steamboat. It was in the 20s with a brisk wind.
