We played a little bit better defense (during the run), and they (Nashville) went about four minutes where they couldn't score. We tried to extend the floor and put a little bit more pressure on them. That was just a good ballgame.
We think we've got a pretty good team. Until you beat a team like that, and recognition comes, you don't really get the recognition.
It's not that we're doing anything different or they're doing anything different. I think we've got pretty athletic kids. The bottom line is that the team with the most talent usually wins, and, right now, I think we can put more basketball talent on the floor.
We were very undisciplined in the first half. I wasn't happy with how we closed the first quarter but that little run gave us some daylight.
It just took too much energy. It's so hot in this gym that we just couldn't do that for 32 minutes.
From my own standpoint, I'm going to go up whether we win or we don't. But, I think this would be a great win for all of the people who had paid their dues.
I think our team is going to show up. I know that's the pat answer, but we're not content. I didn't get that impression at practice.
They've played a lot of big ballgames, and until somebody beats them, they are the sectional champions from last year.
We've had three or four games this year where we've scored 30 or more points in the first quarter. We are notorious for jumping out of the gates pretty darn quick.
There was no quit in us. They just played better. They executed better. They made their free throws, and we did not make our free throws. I think five of the misses were front ends (of one-and-one opportunities).
