We did some good things today. It is tough to score in our game. You have to give credit to Youngstown State. They were organized and played well defensively. However, getting the shutout is real important to us. When you go through a weekend and allow only one goal, you are going to win a lot of games.

I thought we generated some good scoring chances. They took the game to us in the first 45 minutes. However, I thought we did a better job in the second half. Illinois State is a good team. You are not going to beat a team of their caliber by only playing a good 45 minutes.

After halftime, we went to four players in the midfield instead of three and put two at forward instead of three. The change really solidified things defensively and put us in a good position.

We are seeing things we want to see heading into our second season. But all the play we've done so far only gets us a 0-0 record to start MAC play.

To our team's credit, we really worked hard in the box to get on the end of serves and put ourselves in scoring positions.

It is always neat to see a team make some great adjustments when it is down. Our depth was a huge factor in the win today. If everyone goes on the field and makes a positive impact like they did this afternoon, it will give us the opportunity to play 17 or 18 players a game.

I think it was very equal out there today. It was really a one-goal game and I think we played that way defensively.

We put them under pressure but they were able to counter better than other teams we've played.
