We were trying to do less media and fewer big things. We could have done as much as the first album, but we just turned some down on purpose.
I don't think we're going to be the kind of band that start playing stadiums or arenas. Even if we could sell that many tickets we really don't want to. We really like playing the venues of 2,000 to 5,000.
This is not a band that would ever rest on their laurels. If anything, I don't think we feel like we've accomplished anything special yet . . . Now it's time to really work hard.
a lot clearer and brighter. The vocals are up. David really taught Julian how to accept his voice and hear it over the top of the mix.
Julian is the songwriter of the band. He may want to go in different directions, but still sounding like The Strokes. I don't think you're going to hear a concept album.
