I didn't even know there was a state meet. I thought it ended with the City (Public League) championships and then I came here and they were talking about state and I just went out and ran.
Poetry gives me a chance to express the way I feel. You name it, I'll write it.
It was like home. I like the environment -- it's not a party school, and I need something (constructive) to do to keep me focused -- and they specialize in my event.
I never had a break from running. I went year-round. The doctors gave me the OK and as soon as I got that, I was off and running.

The coach talked a lot about the graduation rate, which is about 97 percent. And it's quiet down there, so I can concentrate.
I just don't worry. I don't think about what is gonna happen, it's what I am going to do.
I got my books stolen. They wanted my work.
