We are always preparing. We work on specific things like the jumps, because they take longer to fix and get together.
She went into nationals ranked third last year. The long jump is one of those events you get 1,2,3 jumps, and if you fall on one of them, you're out. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
It's a better way, I think, to go out and preserve land than always asking the government to do it for us.
We realize as much as anyone how important it is to our future. I've been here since '75 and the reason I've never left, frankly, is those rivers and creeks.
