Vista has been seen as next year's earnings driver in the first place, so I don't see that much of an impact.
This has been a lost decade and a half for Japanese semiconductor companies. Japan has been caught between the United States and Asia, and this middle ground keeps shrinking.
This seems to justify the Westinghouse acquisition from a strategic perspective.
Its cash flow is in good condition this business year, but it will be tough in the next business year, even without the Westinghouse deal, because capital spending on semiconductors will increase.
Apparently, their ties are not advanced enough to include unified brands or consolidation of production. I'm not quite satisfied with this.
