My position is simple on President Aristide and any other citizen who wants to come to Haiti. Article 41 of the Haitian Constitution says that no Haitian needs a visa to enter or leave the country.
Today, we tell the Haitian people to continue demonstrating, but in the respect of the rights of others.
I ask the Haitian people ... to be mature, to be responsible, to be nonviolent.
If they publish the results as they are now, we will oppose them, the Haitian people will also oppose them, and there will be protests.
The Haitian people are frustrated. They have a right to be frustrated. And they have the right to protest. But we must respect private property. We must respect the law. We must respect the rights of others.
I'm tired but I am happy. It is an important election for the Haitian people.
