We realize that something's got to happen. I think there is certainly a resolve to try.
This is a 'meet them halfway' kind of compromise.
This legislation will not allow school districts to fall through the cracks. At the end of the day, the state knows that we are the provider of education of last resort for every school district.
It's not about distributing money to every school district, and to going in and building in school districts where there's not a problem. It's about focusing our limited resources to the specific problems.
If we waste a year like this and we don't recharge, then shame on us.
