Last year was pretty much another freshman year for me, and early on I was fine. But then once we got into conference, in those pressure situations, sometimes I guess I got too nervous.

Last year when people slowed down our run, we had a young quarterback and we dropped balls and we made mistakes, ... There's going to be probably nine or 10 guys in the box. So then we have to be willing to throw the football.

It was the consensus that anyone who was going to be playing and having an important role this year was behind the coach. We're optimistic about this season; there's a lot to prove after last year.

Coming from our freshman year, we've come such a long way. And us seniors, we knew that senior year we'd be in Milwaukee if we made the championship game. It's a dream come true for us. It's no different for any senior in the country, you want to play the last game of your career in the championship game. And we're ready. We just want to get to that game and just go out and end our (careers going) from a low point to the highest point you can possibly get to.

I honestly found out about halfway through the year how special the group we have is, because everyone on this team's a leader. Our attitude in the locker room and on the bench is so positive. It was unbelievable because every guy was involved. This journey has been something I'll never forget.

Let this be understood, then, at starting; that the patient conquest of difficulties which rise in the regular and legitimate channels of business and enterprise is not only essential in securing the success which you seek but it is essential to that preparation of your mind, requisite for the enjoyment of your successes, and for retaining them when gained. So, day by day, and week by week; so month after month, and year after year, work on, and in that process gain strength and symmetry, and nerve and knowledge, that when success, patiently and bravely worked for, shall come, it may find you prepared to receive it and keep it,

The reason we moved the date was to appeal to newly engaged couples from Valentine's Day, as opposed to January and dealing with weather related attendance last year where temperatures cut the crowds down.

With the coaching staff we have, it's so hard not to develop. They've done a great job every year of coming in and working with us and pushing us to succeed. It paid off for us.

We have no seniors. We have a young and athletic team. I think this is the year we'll turn the corner.

The seniors will be missed dearly. They've worked really hard all year and got us back to districts, something they've never experienced. Hopefully, it's the beginning of many more to come.

No good play is a success; fine writing and high morals are useless on the stage. I have been scribbling twaddle for thirty-five years to suit the public taste, and I should know.
