Mike Logan wasn't there a year ago, and now he's there.

Next year is the only future I've looked at. It's going to be starting over and trying to re-establish a group of guys that is going to be different than it was this year. But I can tell you that next week I'm going to be doing a lot of reflecting, and enjoying every moment of it.

I don't think it's a case where he has to rectify any one area. It's just recognition and being patient. I think that's the thing. He probably dealt with fatigue as the year went on, but I think now he knows what to expect. He went through it once and I think that will be great benefit to him.

He never took a day off, either. Those are two guys that are coming off major knee surgery a year ago and to get through a training camp and not miss practice says a lot.

He's a special person; he means a lot to this team. He's been very much an inspiration to this team. I think we're driven very much by trying to make this a special year for him.

I think you'll find in any second-year player, his comfort level is much greater. There's no question he's more comfortable with our offense and understanding the plays and the design of the plays and where they're intended to go. Consequently, he's much more in control of the huddle than he was a year ago.

Rob had a really good camp for us a year ago. He came in and challenged Jeff (Reed, the Steelers' kicker). We really liked him. Sometimes it just takes being at the right place at the right time.

We are about as healthy as we have been all year going into the game.

We only threw it 11 times. It's not like we've suddenly arrived, I don't think. Too much comparison has been made to (the preseason). I'm not concerned with that. I'm not ready to sit there and say everything is set with one game ... For the first time this year we looked like a professional team throwing the football.

The second year makes a dramatic difference to any player. He's more comfortable with the offense, and it makes him a better quarterback.

For a first year starter, Max has really had a tremendous year. The guy has never really missed a beat. He's gotten a little bit better each week. He's been there every Sunday for us. What Max has done speaks volumes. Max is a bright guy and he's a big man. And he has good feet for a big man. He's had a very solid year.

It starts at the top, there is no question about that. I've been very blessed and fortunate to be in a very stable organization. At the same time, you can take nothing for granted. You still have to go out there every year and improve yourself. You ask players to do it and I think as coaches you have to do it. I think we all understand that. I'm just very fortunate and blessed to be part of an organization that is very open, very stable and very understanding.

It's almost surreal right now. This is a special group of coaches and a special group of players. All year long they were resilient.

In Denver, they had a chance to win. I think this team could very easily be 4-0, ... I think that says a lot about the fact that they've really picked up where they left off a year ago. I don't feel like we're playing like we did a year ago, but I think San Diego is.

If you look at us two years ago, we were 6-10 and probably a lot like Tennessee, where the year before we were in the playoffs. Tennessee is coming off a tough year last year. As I told the team, two years ago they were 12-4 and came up here and whipped our tails pretty good in this stadium.

The difference between Ben last year and this year is night and day.
