The DA that prosecuted our case back in '91 did everything he could do in the case. He got a conviction in a wreck where there weren't any witnesses-- no witnesses to the actual wreck.
To answer your question as to how you get six years, that was the legislative determination that a felony of involuntary manslaughter conviction would call for that type of sentence.
