He was cruising along and pitching really well. He just made some mistakes with pitches and the hitters hit them.
It happens. You make some mistakes to really good hitters, and they are going to take advantage of it. I thought (Padilla) was really good right up to that point.
With young pitching, it's not a process that happens overnight. There are going to be some steps forward and some steps backward. Mistakes that you might get away with in the Minor Leagues are exposed here. There has to be a level of patience as young pitchers come along.
