I think today was a good indication of what our season has been like. This game was up-and-down. I saw San Diego State coming at me with a double team, and I don't think I handled it very well.

I just seen him two days ago, and I was telling my girl he's a good guy, a cool cat. It's sad.

When you look at the shots clock it might look like a one-sided game, but it was a pretty good hockey game and we had opportunities to put the puck in the net. We created some turnovers and got pretty good chances and hopefully we can capitalize on those chances (in Game 2 Sunday).

We've got to get our team right. We're coming out slow, and the only time it seems like we play good is when we're down, and it shouldn't be that way at all. That's the mentality of a losing team.

I did go slower off that takeoff, but that's each person's choice. I felt I had to do that to get a good landing. Unfortunately, things happen. That's racing. That's why people like to watch it.

We've got a great opportunity to do good things. For sure. The expectations have gone up.

We know how good a team we're playing against and how competitive the guys in that room are, how experienced they are.

I don't really know a specific reason why. We've gotten some good breaks against them and obviously enjoyed playing a team of Detroit's caliber.
