I wrote one of my songs completely out in the field. Another one I started in Alaska and finished in Yellowstone. Even though my books are out, I still consider myself an educator first. I want to give people a better understanding of grizzly bears.
It's great to hear from people who have been touched by these songs. It has been good to know that the Lord is using this in ways I am not even aware of.
He walked around with pockets full of quarters, handing out handfuls to people just to put a smile on their faces.
More times than not people come up to me after the show saying that I helped better their understanding of grizzlies. The more information people have about the bears, the less fearful they'll be.
Also, students have moved away from home, where they have acquired some immunity to the bugs around them, and into accommodation shared with people from all over the country and abroad, where they will come into contact with a new pool of potential infections.
There is a mystique and fear surrounding grizzlies. I want to try and teach people to have a very healthy respect of grizzly bears, but not a fear.
