We want to set the roster as early as we can. This year, the decisions are so few.
It doesn't spit out players to pick, ... It's a framework for decision-making. It's all the information everybody else has -- maybe some different information -- but allows us to assemble and organize it in a way that we can make decisions a little more quickly.
We want to improve our readiness and preparedness for April. The core of our team is in place. If we feel it's easy, we want to make our decisions sooner.
We're not looking to be judged along the way. We have certainly dealt with criticism, quite a bit of it, an extensive amount of it over the last three years, and we're making decisions that are in the best interest of the fans.
Depth decisions are some of the primary things I'm focusing on. They won't matter much on April 2. But on May 13, they could be huge.
I hope we have built some (fan) trust through our decisions of the last three years. I say bear with me, hang in there and trust that we have a very bright future in 2006 and beyond.
