Obviously our talent pool has picked up from a year ago. We got more talent this year. Nothing against last year's team but ya know certain guys came to the team and now we got the pieces where we can make a run.
We were re-evaluating ourselves, that's all. It was a disappointing loss. We beat this team about a month and a half ago, two months ago. ... We played them fairly well through the first half of the game and they blew it open in the second half too much.
I tell you what, we need to be in more close games. It's our goal and we need to continue to show teams that we can close out games and we did it tonight.
That's something I needed tonight to help my confidence. I haven't had a night like that in quite a while. My teammates were finding me.
It's easy to get motivated when we lose three in a row. We were very motivated tonight to win this game. These were two teams that are very hungry, and we got the win.
That's been the one concern for our team - start out better, start out fast.
Tonight we just said we needed a win bad. Desperately. Philly is losing. The other teams are losing, and we have to take advantage of this.
It discourages me because nobody has done it since then. We definitely have a tough task ahead of us. No doubt about that. Detroit, in my opinion, is the best team in the NBA going into the playoffs. So we have to be prepared on all cylinders. All cylinders.
We've made a living on coming back on teams this season, so I'm thinking, 'Here we go again.
Our team did a great job of hanging around until the last minute so when we had to make a 3, we'd be in the game still,
You want to go out there and lead your team to victory, and that's what it's all about, whether it be assists or making plays for others or scoring, rebounding.
I was just feeling my way. I was just playing; not trying to force nothing. I know they were kind of holding me a bit, so I had to pick my spots. My team did a great job of finding me. Really, there were no plays being called. We were just playing.
We need to put teams away when we have the chance, and that was the mind-set coming out of the half.
When I was 16 years old I led the team in scoring. I would attack, attack, attack and that is something I think you are just born with, I really do.
When I was in grade school I was always the guy that got 20 or 18 points. Even back then, I would lead my team in scoring.
I've tasted winning in this organization and I want to win again, ... That was the reason why I came back. I think our team has a great chance to do great things.
