We know we're responsible for a lot our team's offense, and that's something that we take seriously. We take a lot of pride in being productive and helping the team win.
I expect to play a little bit of both. Initially they told me that I would get my playing time at second base, but then Jimmy Rollins dropped out so I'm the only guy on the roster who can play both. I don't care where I play; I just want to be able to help the team as much as possible.
Opening Day is a fun day. The last thing you want to do is spoil it with a loss. You want to cap it with a win and send everybody home happy. But it doesn't change the fact that we have a good team and we're going to have a great season.
We're tired of being a young team with upside. We believe our time is here.
As soon as it was announced, I told my agent to call Team USA and tell them I wanted to be in the WBC.
This is as excited as I've ever been. This is my sixth year on the team and I have never felt such great vibrations from the players, organization and the fans. We have way too much talent as players to let this go to waste.
It means I've stayed healthy, ... That's always my number one goal heading into a season. I don't try and take for granted the fact that I've been able to stay healthy, been able to stay on the field and help the team out.
It was miserable. I made no secret about that. We have too many good players on this team to accept that. ... I want to be part of a winner. I want to win championships.
It was a fairly challenging match for both teams. We missed a lot of chances, but the team is young and were not composed so they lost.
I'm really trying not to think about it. I've been doing the best I can to just focus on finishing out the schedule for the right reasons, and that's to try to help the team win as many games.
