Tonight was not a great match. There was no intensity. The kids were so flat. Last night they were so excited. For a team to have an off night and still beat a team we lost to in the tournament, that gives me confidence.
She's a tremendous middle blocker. You can't teach instinct and she has it.
That's one thing I would like to see us improve on, is serving more aggressively. Brenna Redmond does a good job coming off the bench and putting some spin on serves, but that's something we don't do enough.
We definitely want to make it to state. I see us second or third in our region. (The power points) make our preseason more important than in the past.
One of our biggest concerns is blocking. So we'll play a rotation defense.
It leaves us vulnerable to tips, but boys go down the lines so well, I felt we needed to adjust.
It was nice to win against Mountain View they're definitely in a rebuilding mode like we are. Our chemistry as a team has gotten much better, we're really hustling down balls.
It was a good opportunity to get everyone some playing time.
Aggressive serving is more important in boys. Passing is a skill that seems harder for boys to develop so I think aggressive serving can be more of a tool.
The down official wasn't on the correct side of the net. It sucks momentum from your kids. It hurt our morale. Our defense improved tremendously.
