When you're a kid, you have these big ideas and these big dreams to make a change, or maybe you feel like you can't make a difference.

Surfing is so much work. It's one of those things that I just love, but it's so hard.

I think you can go to school at any age.

Wayne Wang, the director, really helped me become a more mature actress. When I first started filming, I was really over the top. He just helped bring me down and make me real. That was really wonderful, a really wonderful experience. Also, what I learned about filming is it takes forever. I mean, there are so many different angles and shots. I mean, it just takes forever.

I love the ocean and have a passion for surfing, even though I'm not very good at it. I like getting out there and paddling around.

I think I was made to live in New York. I love it.

When I'm at home or at school, I'm casual and comfortable. I tend to wear work out clothes and lots of sweaters.

I only want to do good projects. I want to make good decisions. If it's just a dumb movie, then no, I'd rather stay in school. But if it's a movie worth telling and that I think I would really benefit from, then I would like to do it. And that's one of the reasons I still live in Colorado. I love being with my family and going to school, and then when I come out to L.A., that is the time to be in the movies. People ask me the questions, I do the promotion work, then I get to go back home and live my life.

When I was younger, I didn't want to be on TV.

Well, I'm kind of an urban girl, I like big cities. I like New York, I like London, I like L.A. I like people, I get lonely, really, really easily. But, I think it was good, It was very different and I think that's good.

You can keep your mind open and use your imagination and be creative even when you're older. For kids, I definitely think keeping your mind open and using your imagination and being able to play pretend and that it's okay.

I think girls are especially worried about being judged, and when you're in high school, everything seems like a bigger deal than it is. As soon as you're out, it feels like forever ago-zip-a-dee-doo-dah! So do what you want, and if people are going to judge you for it, who cares? You might not fit in, but that's okay. Everyone thought I was weird in high school!

Boys and girls can be friends. It's not weird. They're a person and they can be your best friend in the whole world.

Everyone always says that guys are intimidated by me, but I seriously doubt it. I mean, I'm five-foot-nothing!

I didn't get joy from acting, I wouldn't do it. My passion for acting is growing and I love telling good stories and inspiring stories and helping to give a little happiness to the world and perhaps get the audience to think about different issues.

There's no need to bully; be kind to unwind!

Perfection is impossible. Trying to do your best is important, but loving yourself and loving others should come first.

If you act weird, people are going to treat you weird, but if you're just yourself, people respond to that.

Do what you want, and if people are going to judge you for it, who cares? You might not fit in, but that's okay. Everyone thought I was weird in high school!

Prom was awesome. I had such a great time at prom.

High school was so much fun, and it wasn't a wreck at all.
