This win was big for a lot of reasons. I told the guys that you will only have one opportunity to play on 'Derek Hines Night'. Now we can all look back fondly on this game and know that we came away with a 'W'.
Certainly I will be doing my best to talk to as many people as possible to try to promote Brad. There will be questions ... (I will try) to educate people who might have an interest in him.
He has the ability to win a game by himself back there,
Our forwards were able to control the puck down low. The effort was certainly there tonight.
I think this is an outstanding move for the league. To hold the tournament in a first-class venue like Blue Cross Arena is a big step for the league as it continues its growth in the college hockey community.
We never quit. We kept battling back and that's always good to see.
You always worry about coming off a long break. We knew the first goal was going to be big.
We needed to create some energy at that point. We knew we had half of the game left. We had to find a way to get the job done, and I think the players responded.
We battled back. That is good for the future.
We need to shake that sense of impending doom, ... To do that, we need to be physically tough, mentally tough and disciplined.
There is nothing like experience, ... We're still in that stage where we are trying to get guys experience, and until (then) ... it's kind of growing pains.
Every time they scored, we answered right back. That says a lot about the character and heart of this team.
Things are not frozen. Things can only get worse.
It's a great honor and well deserved. Brad has had a great season and a great career. For this institution to be represented at the Frozen Four, the biggest weekend of the college hockey season, is special.
It's disappointing. This is a game we could have and should have won. We let it get away from us.
That's a monkey off our back. I don't think we've ever beaten them.
In our league, we want to be the toughest team for anyone to play against, ... My hope is certainly to have this team continue to get better so we will be playing our best hockey come the month of February and lead us into the playoffs.
Being in this position is something we haven't been in.
I'd have to say that the team defense, starting with Brad (Roberts) in goal, has put us in a position to win each game. I also think that we are starting to reap the rewards of scheduling some tough teams at the beginning of the year.
