He came on at the right time. He's on fire right now. He deserves a lot of credit for that mentally.
As of yesterday, I wasn't sure if I would skate it. I've been sick.
That's a man's race. You'll have guys really going for it, really grinding it out.
He doesn't like to lose. And he was given a gift, a motor like the rest of us don't have. When we hit the wall, we hit the wall. We just lose function. But he just doesn't do that.
I haven't been to an event I wasn't competing in since I got here. But that's one race I'll be getting to.
It's fun to watch guys like that. You can't do that just by showing up a couple days a week and being real recreational about it. You got to train, especially at that age. You've got to prepare and be around the rink a lot of hours. I give them a lot of credit.
We have the facilities. The biggest challenge is getting kids out to the rink. Maybe between what we did in Salt Lake City and what we did here, we'll see the results of our success 20 years from now.
If he feels it's him against the rest of the world, then it's him who pitted himself against the world.
If he thinks it's him against the rest of world, well, it's he who pitted himself against the rest of the world.
