We did get pushed around at times by Dover, but our kids are relentless. We have to be that way. We shift a lot before the snap on defense. Hull runs like a deer. He is all over the line. He might line up on the nose or as a tackle.
From everything I have heard, this is the first time we ever beat Dover,
He's a load and runs hard inside. He's also one of our middle linebackers.
We have a lot of young kids, but they are hard-nosed. I did not realistically think we would start this well, but we're not complaining.
We didn't have that team speed the last two years,
As a team, we talked about starting the year strong. We thought 3-0 would be something fabulous for the kids. We knew Laurel and Indian River were the class of the conference, but we talked about a fast start.
The attitude was so good at the end of last year,
It was a hard-fought football game and closer than the score shows. We got a couple turnovers, and there were a few penalties that hurt Dover. Our kids were definitely energized.
The kids have a mission this year. I'm not quite sure what that mission is yet, but they are ready for the challenge.
He's not like some of the quarterbacks we had on those title teams, but he competes and gets the job done.
The Henlopen South is loaded with playoff caliber teams. The division is as strong overall this year as I can remember. Hopefully, we will be competitive enough to be a challenger among teams with high goals. We have excellent overall team speed and we have depth at skill positions.
