This shows muscle contains infected material. Anybody who may be handling or eating infected deer may be inadvertently exposed.
There are a lot of unknowns about these diseases, and CWD is probably the most enigmatic.
If I were to eat venison I wouldn't feel comfortable eating venison from areas where chronic wasting disease is endemic.
