We appreciate and accept this apology from Bob and the Rutgers athletic program. This matter is now fully resolved and closed.

Given the enormity of this national disaster and our collective desire to help the victims of this tragedy, our student-athletes, coaches and staff want to help those in the Gulf region. You have to look around and see that a lot of positions turn over in universities. CSU has been fortunate in other positions. I think it's just a part of the business.

I don't want to say athletics drives applications. But our enrollment management people will say we're getting more and more applications and therefore can be more selective in choosing our freshman class. They believe an awful lot of that is due to the visibility and national exposure we receive from our athletic programs.

We've always done what was best for our basketball programs and all of our programs. You have to decide what it is you need, where you're going to put it. These are projects that take some time.
