bad chances coming games knew loss three
She was on fire. You kind of knew that was going to happen. They were coming off of a loss and she had a bad game. Chances are that she's not going to have three bad games in a row.
anchor games loss playing stepping three won
She's really the anchor of our defense. She's stepping up and playing consistently. We wouldn't have won our three games if it wasn't for her and Friday's loss would have been uglier.
double felt hit loss marks needed point though time turn
We would be reeling if we had loss today. We needed this win. It marks an important turn around point in the season. It really felt like the first time we hit double digits on the board, even though it wasn't.
arguably best class coming hopefully last looks loss motivating recruiting team year
They have arguably the best recruiting class in the country. They're going to be a completely new team with different looks and different strengths. Hopefully coming off of that loss to them last year is motivating our team. There's no way we can take this team for granted.
dug flat games hole ourselves played row slow
It was two games in a row where we dug ourselves into a hole where we couldn't get ourselves out. We started off slow and played flat in the first half.
attack ball care clock defense discipline good held looked onto plays run today
Our defense looked good because our attack held onto the ball. Having the discipline on the attack to run the plays and take care of the ball is something we haven't been able to do in the past, but today we did. We managed the clock very well.
ball five four good great might perfect score third though three wait
Even though we've got great attackers, we might have one good first look, but we want to wait for the third perfect look. But if we give the ball to Vanderbilt four or five times in transition, they're going to score three or four out of those four or five chances.
care games good win
There's not a lot of good to say today. It was frustrating. You just don't win games if you can't take care of the ball.
believe close either looked played sidelines team though
We haven't really had a lot of close games. They've been a blowout either way. I looked at the sidelines and it looked like the team wanted it. There have been times where I think they didn't believe in themselves. Even though it was a loss, we played well.
ability egg fashion game immaturity lack laying lose stick
To lose to Stanford, and in the fashion that we did, by laying an egg in the first half, showed some immaturity with our lack of ability to stick with the game plan.
ball double fed missed player quick ready trouble
I don't think we were ready for how quick they fed the ball in and shot. On offense, we had trouble with their double teams, and when we skipped the ball over to the wide-open player we missed some opportunities.
ball care cause foolish great midfield
We made a lot of foolish turnovers in the first half. They're a great team, they're going to cause turnovers, but we've got to take care of the ball in midfield transition.
difference finish game inability taking tying
What really made the difference was our inability to finish on our eight-meter chances. That's the difference between tying the game and taking the lead.
hooking rattled
We had to be disciplined, and we weren't that disciplined in the first half. We got kind of rattled and we just started hooking the ball.
