We're extremely happy with the way we're playing right now. Naturally our goal is to win the title - and we can take a giant step by beating Lowell (this Sunday). But they're going to be tough.
Lowell is a very, very good basketball team and they pushed us to the limit. Both teams played extremely well and I'm very happy with the way we hung in and executed at the end of the game.
Laura was unbelievable. She finished 9-for-13 from the floor including 5-for-7 in three-pointers.
We really played well in the first half. We shot well, passed well and moved well without the ball.
We played our best first half of the season. All that energy and emotion from waiting was released and everybody gave a great effort. We rebounded well and our first-half shooting was phenomenal.
We played nine girls in the game and they all contributed significantly.
To hold that team to 13 points in the first half was a huge accomplishment. It was the usual full-court man-to-man defensive pressure.
We hit four three-pointers right away and jumped out to a 12-2 lead. It was important to get off to a quick start.
They played a 1-3-1 zone and it was tough. They are a very physical team and they beat us up a little.
They're going to be very tough when we play them again over there.
I know one of Central's biggest goals this season was to beat us at our gym. But we weren't going to let that happen. We went at them for the full 32 minutes.
I hope Lowell wins it all. I've said right straight along this season they're a great team. We've had three battles with them. Unfortunately we lost the last one.
