Her pitches were up. We talked about how the ball needed to be down against this club. She wasn't in command of her pitches.
We're very pleased with our rookies. We graduated seven seniors last year, and we knew heading into the season that some of our freshmen needed to step up.
We preach being ahead in counts. It's frustrating, that every day in practice we hit our spots, then we come out here, and there's no transfer. Some of that is youth, but we have to be able to do it between the white lines.
Jillian is such a spark plug for us. She brings a lot of energy and confidence to the team.
We've talked all year about being consistent. And now they're starting to do that. They're getting ahead in the count more often, and that makes a big difference.
She competed hard the entire game and pitched really competitively for us. You could really see at the end of the game the competitiveness was really high.

Clearly we're facing two of the top teams in the Big East. We have to bring our 'A' game and be prepared to play some ball.
She wasn't real sharp. She was up a little bit, but she recognized that her pitches were way up. Once she got back down, things fell into place.
