We are always playing for something. We told our guys that we need to get better and that's what we did.
We're sore, rusty, out of shape and out of sync. We're hoping they'll get that out of their system (today).
We've been in a lot of close games this year. This year's team is one that just doesn't quit.
Our big guys are coming along and doing a better job of attacking. It's something that we've been working on, and we're starting to see the benefits from it.
This was the same kind of game as those two. It was down to the wire, tooth and nail. We'd give a little, then they'd give a little.
We knew if we could withstand their pressure early we could stay in the game and have a chance. Our goal was to just not lose it in the first half. And our defense did a great job.
As long as we take care of us, we figure we'll be fine. I just want to see us play with intensity. We're going to make mistakes; I know that. But as long as they're effort mistakes, I'm OK with it.
They turn up the pressure defensively. They do a great job. They're very physical. They're on you all the time. And they wore us down.
It's good for our program to have those three recognized. It also says a lot about the rest of our guys who made this possible and have led to our success.
That's the bad thing about the NJCAA. (Cochise) is a really good team and they deserve to go.
The energy was good and that was good to see. We accomplished that goal of coming and playing hard. These games are to get us back into playing shape before we go into the grind.
The game served its purpose. I thought our effort was good and we did a good job of transition from offense to defense and exploding out and getting down the floor.
