It can happen any time. It depends on the weather. Lots of high temperatures will kick-start the season.

Friday is when we get the biggest crowds.

This is a big basketball community. Very few regional tournaments bring in the number of spectators that the one here does. It is a large event for here. All the participating schools bring large numbers of fans to our area. Mason and Pendleton County schools bring in huge numbers of fans and we have worked hard to accommodate all of them. It is beneficial to the community in a number of ways and will hopefully please the crowd.

One game will be played, then the gymnasium will be cleared. This gives our people time to clean up before the second game begins.

It is not just ticket sales. It is parking nightmares, rest rooms, emergency personnel, safety and security plans and any number of jobs that create the regional tournament. Just making sure there is cold pop for 5,000 people is a huge endeavor.

Fred (Hester) and Terry Stanfield have done a phenomenal job for years. It takes unbelievable organization to put this together.
