After playing a brutal schedule and dealing with injuries and overtime losses, we finally started to play some consistent basketball.
It's really been a difficult season. Tonight is what I kind of envisioned to start the season - a team that was guard-heavy, that could handle (the ball) and shoot the three.
We played 10 of the top 20 teams in the state. I'm sure a lot of people thought I was an idiot for doing that, but I'd have to say that was a little bit of it.
We've been in a shooting slump, honestly. ... Tonight we settled in and shot our open looks. And you know what? If we shoot 53 percent (from 3-point range), we can beat anybody.
With five seniors, it makes me ecstatic that we get a couple more days to practice and one more game. This team has a 13-16 record, but I kept telling them you've got to believe in yourselves and special things are going to happen.
As long as we have the lead, I'm going to sit you guys out.
It really makes me ecstatic that I get at least more day of practice with my five seniors and that they get to play at least one more game. We're all playing for them right now.
