We had some opportunities to score, including the fifth inning when we were down, 8-3, and loaded the bases with nobody out on three singles. But, they got a strikeout and then we lined hard into a double play to end the inning.
The kids are just going to relax tomorrow. They're going to the beach tonight and we don't have anything big planned for tomorrow.
Hoffman pitched very well. He was in trouble in only the one inning they scored. He was pretty much in command in every inning other than that.
We're swinging the bats extremely well. From one through nine in the order, the players are taking good hacks.
We could be better than 18-11 at this point, but we could be worse. We have been playing pretty well lately.
This weekend will dictate a lot of what happens to us this year in the conference. These are a couple of teams we will be battling with all season to make the tournament.
One of the big things was that we were able to take advantage of our opportunities. But, the real key was pitching. Hoffman and Waldron got the job done for us.
Dumas came up with another big hit for us.
It was only fitting that Dave got the game-winning hit on the day he broke the all-time hits record.
Things were looking good for us at this time.
